ABOUT
Su Hewitt (MBACP)

Counsellor/psychotherapist
& Registered Member of the BACP

I am a fully qualified humanistic integrative counsellor/psychotherapist.  This means I combine many techniques in my practice.  I use psychodynamic theory to assist in identifying which technique is best applied to work with a particular issue.

I am a Registered Member of the BACP, and I adhere to their ethical guidelines, including confidentiality.

I have been working with clients since 2010, providing both long term and short term services, working with almost all age groups.

I am deeply passionate about counselling, as it really does work.  I also feel privileged to share the journeys of individuals making changes to better their quality of life, and I find this deeply rewarding.

I work with all emotional problems, life crises, and daily struggles in relationship with others, in personal and working lives.

The best results are achieved working together regularly, and initially, at least, we would undertake weekly sessions, which may or may not be reduced in frequency after working together for a period of time.

The relationship is essential, and sometimes it doesn't work, a bit like any other relationship.  On the rare occasion this happens, I aim to ensure other useful information, contacts, and, where possible, I will make referrals to other counsellors/psychotherapists.

Of course, all options are discussed fully during the work.  I work non-judgementally at all times, and I work within the ethical framework provided by the BACP.  For further information on the BACP ethical framework, follow this link.
